Why Beagles dig?

I enjoy digging very much and actually this is natural for my canine. I can also bring out that a beagle may dig for entertainment purposes or to gain access to perceived freedom. I personally do it mostly for fun, specially, when they want to make a pretty garden. Ahah! 

Furthermore, I dig inside too, in order to hide my valuables or make a nice nest. Even if digging a hole is not physically possible we still keep doing it due to our canine.
