I guess I will start with the fact that most Beagles will not be silent dogs. We enjoy saying out what we think and we can do it in three different ways. Usually I make a standard bark at daily things: when I want attention, when they leave me home alone, when I am distressed, when somebody comes to visit, when I can't get my toys, when I protect my home, when getting a new treat, when old ladies walk towards me, when I see plastic or garbage bags. Second, I am howling if I am sad or bored. Third, I make a throaty yowl to alert others I found a target or its smell. In general, there is always a reason for me to make sound. I bark when I am happy, excited, angry and scared. What is funny fact is that at the puppy school my teacher said it is not normal if a dog tells the owner when is the correct time to go to pee.
